What happens when cultures meet? How do we write the history of these interactions, and why do we call it inter-cultural history?
This interdisciplinary course explores these questions through the rich exchanges between China and Europe during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and the variety of intercultural creations born from them.
Join this MOOC and explore reciprocal exchanges in books, images, objects, and stories. Learn how new meanings and identities emerge in the fascinating space called the “in-between”. Discover a new way of writing intercultural history: the Art of In-Betweenness.
